Race Day

Ohhhhhhh...i could not help being disappointed. Let me not talk much or else I would end up being depressed. I am already feeling dull because it is a sunday evening and sunday evening's have never been my favourite time of the week. And to add to my miseries Schumi spun out giving away his lead and to none other than Alonso...to who?? Helloooo...to whom...did I say Alonso...yes of course I did...Alonso,once again.

Now,if you have been following my blog closely for the last few days you would have known...didn't i say so yesterday that I would not play poker with Renault...especially with Alonso in the team. Guess what...Alonso was tailing Schumi and gave Schumi a real tough time in all the corners and then...it was a game of nerves and then it happened,a tight turn, tyres locking for the formidable Ferrari and swoosh...Schumi was royally skidding backwards towards the chicane...time enough for Alono's Renault to miss Schumi's steel horse and drive past to take the lead which was threatened momentarily when he took a pit stop but it was soon back in his lap...and if I know Alonso...he is not the one to let go of the position when he gets a grip of it,much to the disappointment of Team Ferrari and Schumi and Ferrari fans and most of all me.

And it was very interesting to see all the pit stops once again...it reminded me of all the good old days when pit stops were more interesting than the race itself. And I could still remember the excited laugh of my dad who would enjoy every bit of action pretty much like me.

And...this 57 lap race saw some action with Villeneuve's car breaking into flames...whoa...it was more like the fiery exhausts of rocket at the time of blast off...or is it lift off...it was such a beautiful sight to see but i was also concerned about Jacques' safety and thankfully he managed to bail out before much damage was done...

But...my post would not be complete without mentioning about the most wonderful thing I saw. It was Kimi Raikonnen...who would have thought he would take the podium from his position on the starting grid. From 22 to 3rd place...man this is F1 for you...very exciting and very unpredictable. Like how it was for Schumi during the 2004 season when he saw how unpredictable the whole race could be...He took Number 1 on the podium from position 20 on the grid and an embarassing last position from Position 1 when he his tyres deflated.

All said and done...Bahrain was not a happy hunting ground for ferrari.
But then it is just the begining.Hoping to see more action in the Petronas Circuit in Malaysia...see you folks and may the best driver win.
